New e-learning certificate program offered at CSUSB

New e-learning certificate program offered at CSUSB

online learning E-learning, or distance education, through online services, is the fastest-growing teaching and learning method in society today.

To help meet the need of instructors and technicians needed to work in the digital classroom setting, this spring Cal State San Bernardino will offer a new certificate program in e-learning for individuals who want to learn how to create and implement an online class or service.

The classes, not surprisingly, will be offered entirely online.

Sponsored by the Instructional Technology Program of the College of Education, the classes in the certificate program will help students to better understand the human and technological aspects necessary to develop virtual learning environments. The courses will also offer the practical skills students need to develop the software necessary to create online classes.

The certificate program will consist of five, four-unit classes for a total of 20 units. However, to earn the certificate, a student only needs to complete 16 units. The cost of each four-unit class is $160 per unit and is offered through the university's College of Extended Learning.
