Still not sure about what Grad Days really are….below are some questions that are frequently asked.
What is Grad Days? Grad Days is one stop shopping for your commencement needs and wants. At Grad Days you can take advantage of the Grad Days only discount of 15% on CSUSB emblematic items. Tend to all of the commencement basics, register for commencement, purchase your cap and gown and print your tickets. Take advantage of the Grad Days only discount with top notch vendors that have been invited to campus and assembled all under one roof for your convenience. Shop for memorabilia, arrange for your graduation portrait, order your announcements, and much more!
What is a Grad Pack? Created especially for our new CSUSB graduates, the Grad Pack benefits begin immediately, with an increase in your Grad Days only discount from 15% to 30% on all CSUSB emblematic items. You will receive a two-year CSUSB Alumni Association membership. Some of the benefits that come with being an Alumni Association member are, access to the Career Development Center and its resources, CSU library privileges, a year round 25% discount to the Coyote Bookstore, special invitations to networking events and the availability of competitive medical, dental and vision insurance are just a few of the value added that comes with the membership. You will be presented with the official chrome CSUSB license plate to show off your CSUSB pride. Visit the CSUSB Alumni member benefits page for even more reasons to get a Grad Pack.
How much is the Grad Pack? A Grad Pack is $35.00, a value of over $100, and the only way to double your Grad Days discounts.
A diploma frame from one of our vendors is priced regularly at $119.00
With your Grad Days only discount the price is $101.15 (15% discount)
With the purchase of a Grad Pack your price is $83.30. (30% discount)
That’s a savings of $35.70! The Grad Pack pays for itself.
Who will be at Grad Days? Your Alumni Association will be present the entire day to assist you. We have also invited very reputable vendors to participate in your Grad Days.
Jostens will be on site both days to answer questions and place orders for class rings, announcement, thank you notes and special CSUSB Grad Days only packages.
Balfour will have a complete selection of class rings for you to try on.
Halverson's Photography and Classic Photography will be on site to take and set up appointments for your graduate portraits.
Pride Sash will be here with a graduation must, the official CSUSB commencement sash.
How do I register for commencement and what is the cost? You may register for Commencement via Webcomm. This can be done through the commencement web site, or you can register and pay on site at Grad Days. The cost to register is $35. Cash, check, Discover and Master Card are accepted. Sorry, no VISA.
How many commencement tickets will I get and what if I need more? Once you have registered for commencement you will be able to print 5-8 tickets per graduate, depending on the college. For additional tickets you will need visit the Webcomm site beginning at 7 am on June 7th; all tickets not claimed will be made available at this time. Overflow tickets will be available at the Coyote Bookstore beginning on June 8th. Overflow seating is located in the Health and PE Complex, HP 124.
Is there a cost for commencement tickets? No, there is no cost for commencement tickets.
What is a "shout out"? A "shout out" is an opportunity for you to record a brief message on camera to those who have helped you along the way, friends, family, professors to name a few. These will run on the screens in the Coussoulis Arena prior to the graduates marching in. Filming will take place at Grad Days (for details, see the Grad Days "shout out" shooting schedule).
Where can I get a graduation portrait taken? Finding a photographer can be a long process that is why we have assembled several for you at Grad Days. You will be able to view their portfolios and schedule a sitting.
May I bring my family and friends to Grad Days? Absolutely! This is a huge milestone not only in your life but in your friends and family’s too. All are invited to attend.
How much is a cap and gown? A cap and gown can be purchased for approximately $32 (Bachelor’s) and $36 (Master’s).
What if I can’t attend Grad Days?
Webcomm registration will be open until June 6 for you to register and print your commencement tickets. Contact the Alumni Affairs office if you need assistance with the registration process. You will be able to obtain your cap and gown from the bookstore until the week before commencement. The only item not available is the Grad Days discount, but with the purchase of a Grad Pack from the Alumni Association, you may receive a 25% discount on CSUSB emblematic items at the bookstore. The Alumni Association can also help you get in touch with the vendors who participated in Grad Days.
How will I know if I’m eligible for commencement? You will have received a post card in the mail from the commencement office informing you that you qualify to participate in commencement. For a check list on what you need to complete to become eligible, visit the Preparing to Graduate page on the commencement web site.
What if I don’t receive a postcard informing me I’m eligible to register for commencement?
A postcard was sent to all students eligible to graduate. If you did not get an eligibility postcard, or have questions, please contact Records at (909) 537-5200. Graduate students must be cleared by their grad coordinator at (909) 537-5058 to walk in commencement.
What do I do if my questions have not been answered? You may go to www.csusb.edu and click on the commencement link, or go directly to the commencement web site.
