CAREER NEWS 
Janelle Bruner, B.A. human development 2002, is a special education teacher at Dunlap Elementary School in Yucaipa, CA.  She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Education with a focus on special education. As an undergraduate, Bruner was active in Campus Crusade for Christ, University Dance Company and Lubos Ng Pilipino.  

Angela DeSarro, B.A. English literature 1998, was recently promoted to lieutenant by the La Mesa Police Department, making her the highest-ranking member of the department and the first female lieutenant in the city’s 100-year history. Before her promotion, DeSarro worked in the Investigation’s Unit as a detective and a sergeant. Prior to her career in law enforcement, DeSarro was a second-grade teacher. 

Haragewen Kinde, B.S. mathematics 1986, was recently appointed as the interim vice president for instruction at San Bernardino Valley College. Before being appointed to the position, Kinde served as dean of mathematics, business and computer technology at the college. 

Dhanawat Suthumpun, M.B.A. 1995, is the managing director and director of Global Sales and Enterprise Marketing for HP Thailand, overseeing the Instant-On Enterprise.  Prior to joining HP, Suthumpun was general manager of telecommunications for IBM in the ASEAN region.



PUBLICATIONS
Teresa M. Burrell, B.A. sociology 1970, recently published her third book, The Advocate’s Conviction, in the Advocate series. Burrell maintained a private law practice for more than twelve years as an attorney for abused minors and juvenile delinquents.

Margaret B. Hill, M.A. educational administration 1980, recently published her first book, It’s All About the Children, a collection of life lessons and insights gained in her years of experience as a teacher and principal. Hill is currently assistant superintendent of Administrative Services at the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Office.


WEDDINGS AND ANNIVERSARIES
Gregory Lewis
, B.A. geography 2009, ΣΧ, and Amy Whitten were married at First Christian Church in San Bernardino on November 19, 2011. Both work for Thousand Pines Christian Camp in Crestline, CA.  Gregory is a member of the CSUSB Alumni Association.

Jeannie Noriega, B.A. English 1998, and Joshua Underwood of Loma Linda, CA were married in January in Fallbrook, CA. Jeannie is an eighth-grade teacher and Associated Student Body advisor at Redlands Unified School District.

Dorenda S. Reeves, B.A. sociology 1996, married police officer W. Glenn Cannon on November 15, 2011. The couple plan to live in Morganton, North Carolina.

Justin Schoeller, B.S. kinesiology 2007, and Krista J. Morel, B.A. marketing 2004, were married November 21, 2011. Krista is a sales representative for Abbott Nutrition, and Justin is a sales representative for Xerox in San Bernardino.


IN MEMORIAM

Christopher C. Schultz, B.S. marketing 2006, passed away November 22, 2011. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Rumpung Khansan Schultz, and his sister, Kristina Schultz.
